The JDJ Scholarship fund offers financial support to high school students in metro Detroit to help make their college dreams a reality.
The Judith Jackson Scholarship Program was founded in 2015 to honor the life and legacy of a true champion of youth. Judith “Judy” Jackson dedicated her life to improving the lives and opportunities of young men and women who have completed their high school education. She spent her life removing barriers for young people and helping them realize their greatness to pursue their dreams and impact their communities.
Through fundraising and our generous donors, we have awarded $176,000 to nearly 50 high school students in the metro Detroit area since our inception. This proves that with hope, determination, and community, Judy’s legacy lives on.

Judith Dianne Jackson, affectionately known as Judy, was born July 1, 1950. The youngest of three children, she graduated from Marion High School in 1968 and went on to attend Indiana University in Bloomington, where she earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Sociology in 1972. Judy later entered the prestigious School of Social Work at Washington University in St. Louis, Missouri, where she earned her Master’s Degree in Social Work, Policy and Planning, and Community Organizing in 1974.

JDJ Scholarship Fund is fortunate to have a dedicated and diverse Board of Directors. Each member shares a commitment to the goals and objectives of our organization and our work on behalf of higher education. In addition, our Board of Directors consists of experienced professionals who bring years of experience in business, community involvement, development, and service towards education.
